Top Tips - things to think about when booking a wedding car
Whether or not you choose Romance Wedding Cars as your supplier, there are some key things you should consider before booking your wedding car:
1) Always, always ask to see wedding cars before you book
We’re happy to invite you to our showroom or to see you at wedding fayres . Have a sit in, and really understand what you’ll be booking. If you're thinking about other cars -go and see them too.
2) Think about your dress/outfit and your comfort in the car
We’ll be happy to advise and to show you suitable wedding cars, but please consider the style of your outfit and how this may impact the wedding car that you choose. You’ll be able to imagine this when you see the wedding cars in person. Some of our competitors vintage wedding cars are very small and uncomfortable whilst our cars have been chosen because the are all spacious.
3) Think about the journey you’ll make and who’ll be in the wedding cars
Again, we’ll help to advise, but it’s important that you think about where the pick up points are and exactly who you’d like to be in the wedding cars. Also, think about asking a relative or friend to take any large bags or luggage as wedding cars typically have little storage space (plus – you don't want to spoil the look of the photo’s! with unsightly luggage).
4) Think about timing – be realistic
We’ll help you plan a route and timing but consider what you’d like. It may be that you need 2 cars in order to get the wedding party to the locations in the right order and on time. You may have a specific request about the route we take.
5) With open top wedding cars – think HAIR!
On longer routes or if the weather isn’t perfect, we’ll often suggest that part of the journey is completed with the “hood” up. This isn’t always required, but on some occasions you’ll be thankful!
6) Ask if the company has public liability insurance
There are many “hobbyist” wedding car owners out there that do not operate as a proper business with the necessary safety and documentation. One easy way to sort through these is to check for insurance. It’s an expensive cost. You can see ours on the wall of our showroom. We pride ourselves on being a professional and well managed company. Your wedding day is our business but often means a lot more to us as we get to play an intimate role in a very emotional and important occasion.
7) Ask if you get exclusive use of the car – understand what you’re paying for
Our wedding car hire policy is that we only book one car, per wedding, per day. This means that the car is not double booked and our service is focussed on your wedding day only. Make sure you get a clear understanding of what you’ll get from other companies. Some firms have small fleets and will try to make as much money as they can during the key wedding season. This will also help you compare "like for like" as some companies have hidden additional costs. We have no hidden costs.
8) Ask how the company will prepare for your wedding day
Once we have secured you booking and understand your requirements we’ll plan our chauffeur’s schedules. Each wedding car chauffeur will get a full briefing and undergo a “dry run” of the route prior to each wedding. We’ll also check for any disruption on the roads or any plans for roadworks. Our wedding cars are prepared a couple of days before the wedding to ensure they’re in tip top condition. Nothing is left to chance to ensure we give you a first class service.
9) Ask if you can speak to satisfied customers
We try to keep details of some customers that agree to provide testimonials of our service. We don’t pay for this. We just believe that if we provide a good service, that people are willing to provide an honest recommendation. They were once in your shoes planning a wedding and trying to find the best suppliers so they know how you feel. |
